History

Our Routemaster is one of the later models, an RML (L standing for lengthened), giving it an extra 3 ft. It was built in 1967 and went into service on route 207a in Hanwell, finishing its working life on route 6 out of Willesden Bus garage, through Queens Park and Marble Arch, including Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar square. It came out of service in March 2004.

The bus now lives in Gloucestershire where it’s available for events and weddings both locally and, by arrangement, at longer distances.

The bus now has a fully fitted serving area downstairs with chillers for the beer lines and two fridges.

It has an awning to provide shelter and comes equipped with tables and chairs.

All the photos you see on this page are of Big Red while she was a working bus.
